Timberland’s Nature Needs Heroes Campaign
Timberland are starting a movement with their latest ‘Nature Needs Heroes’ campaign. They are using real people within the community, people who devote their talents and lives to making a difference to show that by making small changes to your daily life and routine you can make a big difference to the environment and help change the world for the next generations. The shoes and apparel from the Nature Needs Heroes campaign are more eco-friendly because they use recycled materials for better sustainability. The following shoes an eco-friendly option for Autumn, both pairs feature soles made from 34% recycled rubber, meaning that you can do your bit for the environment while still looking great.
The Urban Exit Men’s trainer, which is available in both khaki green and Timberland’s trademark wheat colour, is a perfect match for September’s unpredictable weather as they are made with Timberdry traction to help protect from unwanted moisture to ensure your feet stay dry.
They are also produced using premium leather from an LWG Silver-Rated tannery and 100% PET mesh fabric, not to mention the recycled rubber soles.
For women who want an edgy, contemporary Autumn look, why not try a pair of Bluebell Lane Derby Shoes. The style is brand new for 2019 and while the 4cm wedge sole is also made from recycled rubber, the shoe itself is made from a smart looking premium looking coated leather that adapts to your foot and softens as you wear them.
The Bluebell lane also comes in a Chelsea boot style and a lace up boot style. The look is bang on trend for AW19 and with a memory foam footbed, you will be hard pressed to find something more comfortable.
Inna Modja, pictured below wearing a pair of the Bluebell Lane shoes is a Malian-French female singer and model.
Her heritage stems from a country where it is impossible to miss the devastation that climate change causes to the planet on a daily basis.
Timberland have chosen to use Inna for part of their ‘Nature Needs Heroes‘ campaign because she is not only an international musician and entertainer but also an environmental activist. She uses her voice within the community to talk about the environment and share her message through her music to show people what is really happening to our planet. She hopes that by setting an example and being responsible, she will get others involved in the hope that we can group together as one and change the planet for the better.
Inna wants everyone to make a change and do something small on a daily basis – this can be through doing something as simple as recycling more or researching and buying fairtrade products. If people can become more aware of the things that they are doing everyday they can become their own hero for nature. She believes that if everyone makes small changes at a time, they will find themselves doing more and more as time goes on. If everyone does a little bit at a time, we can make a difference for the future generations, our children and our children’s children.
Hoodies, Jumpers & Knitwear
Don’t be afraid of staying outdoors as the autumn nights draw in. With a couple of new additions to your hoodie and jumper collection, you’ll be more than ready to take on any outdoor experience that comes your way, even when the temperature drops. We think you will agree, this years offering of hoodies and sweatshirts is one of our best yet!
We love these Campshire pullover hoodie’s from The North Face, made with sherpa fleece for maximum warmth. They come in white and black and a relaxed fit makes them the perfect throw-on when darkness falls and then temperature drops.
The Canoe River sweater collection from Timberland is another great eco-friendly choice for the upcoming season. Using organic cotton from the ‘Better Cotton Initiative’, that the cotton produced is better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the sector’s future. The sweater is a great smart-casual choice and perfect for slipping on over a shirt or t-shirt as the nights turn chilly.
For on-trend casual women’s style, the Drew Peak jumper from The North Face makes a statement and can add some edge to a jeans and trainers combo. Let’s also not forget that it’s made from the very best materials – this is a best-selling classic style that is brought back year after year!
The Best for Insulation
Insulation is a key part of transitioning from summer and being ready for autumn when it hits. With the morning air feeling fresher and more crisp by the day and the nights getting shorter and darker, making sure you have the right jacket on hand is a good place to start.
One of the things we pride ourselves on here at Seventy Three is our vast collection of outerwear that can help you face each day without worry of getting cold. We’re particularly fond of this new Timberland Hix Mountain women’s insulated bomber jacket which we think will become a staple of your autumn wardrobe. The versatile khaki colour and insulated inside mean you’ll look and feel great whether you’re out for drinks in the evening or adventuring through the countryside with the dog.
For men, we think the ultimate parka can be found at Seventy Three. The new Mount Kelsey fleece-lined parka by Timberland showcases mod style at its finest, bringing together an iconic look with excellent quality. Made with 97% Better Cotton Initiative cotton, you can feel good about wearing it. For a lighter option the Mount Kelsey M65 jackets come in rust and navy and are perfect for throwing on with jeans and a jumper.
Time to Accessorise Your Look
While it’s not quite glove weather yet, it’s always handy to have a pair on standby in case the temperature plummets. Evade the stress of finding your old pair by getting some brand new ones that work with your lifestyle. Whether you’re climbing the highest peak or just traversing through city streets, the ETIP™ winter gloves (below, right) from The North Face utilise WindWall fleece to cut out the wind and keep your hands performing in the cold whilst a U/R Powered palm lets you use your devices wherever you are without removing your gloves.
Another thing to think about as winter starts to draw in (even if we don’t want to admit it) is a scarf. Timberland’s plaid scarf (below, left) comes in a range of colour palettes that you can team with any look, and comes with an embroidered gift box if you’re looking for a birthday or Christmas present.
Keep your head cosy too with the unisex beanie from The North Face, perfect for navigating the ski slopes or a tranquil woodland walk. On the outside, the durable acrylic fabric blocks out chilly wind for hours of comfort. Inside, a microfleece ear band gives an extra touch of warmth.
