The Seventy Three Managers Conference

On Wednesday 11th September our store managers travelled to London for our annual conference and awards at VF’s brand new hub. Based in the heart of the West End, in between Regent Street and Carnaby Street, the new VF offices are in the heart of the Capital’s shopping district.

The historical art deco building was the base for a day of intensive day of Timberland training, covering a wide range of topics with product presentations throughout the afternoon followed by our annual Managers awards presentation in the evening.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our team of store managers to keep up to date with the latest new arrivals, access new ideas and share practical information whilst catching up with colleagues and networking with each other and the team from Seventy Three Head Office. A sneaky preview of new products for Spring / Summer 2020 went down a storm, and everyone agreed that Timberland’s collections keep getting stronger!

We especially love all of the new products and innovations from Timberland dedicated to sustainability. It is great to know more about what the brand is doing to help try and make the planet a better place by creating more eco-friendly apparel and footwear. Their new “Do Good” Collection, which includes the Ecoriginal Bomber jacket features products using materials which are 100% recycled. They have also teamed up with partners globally and committed to planting 50 million trees across the globe in the next 5 years.




Award Winners


Huge slices of delicious Pizza were served with a selection of beverages on VF’s exclusive roof terrace overlooking Carnaby Street, just as the evening sun was setting over the West End. Our award winners were called out and presented with their prizes by the team at Head Office and the Management team from VF, before the celebrations continued into the night.



Well done to Rick from Timberland Manchester who won the double – Brand Ambassador and the most coveted award for Seventy Three Manager of the Year!

A brilliant manager who thoroughly deserves this award, Rick has developed a brand new team at the Manchester store to an excellent standard within the last 6 months.

He always uses his initiative and is excellent operationally, plus he has exceeded his stores sales targets in the past year and has achieved some brilliant results. Well done Rick!



Store of the Year 2019 – CLARK CHANDLER (Nottingham)

The Store of the Year award is decided based upon KPI’s – and Nottingham came top in UPT, PC and Sub for the past 12 months. Nottingham have an amazing team in place and are doing a great job, with Clark joining the team and carrying this on from his predecessor. Well done Clark and Team!

Managers Manager – Betty Foster (CHELMSFORD)

The Managers Manager award was voted for by other managers and Betty truly deserves this award! Always providing huge support to all in the company with a friendly smile, Betty is the go-to person when it comes to training & development. She has some great tips to give and has helped with the roll out of the training modules and the ops manual. Well done Betty and keep up the great work!






Well done to Dan from our Brighton store for the award for most improved. This award was based upon KPI’s and Brighton came 2nd in the ranking over the last 12 months, which is a huge improvement versus the year before. Well done to all the winners and all the other managers for your hard work over the last 12 months.
